Chris Whiting MP, Member for Bancroft

Chris Whiting is the State MP for Bancroft, representing residents of North Lakes, Deception Bay, Burpengary East and parts of Rothwell and Mango Hill in Queensland.

The office of Chris Whiting MP assists with all State Government matters including, but not limited to: Health, Social Housing, Public Education, State Roads, Infrastructure and Public Transport.

Prior to being elected as a State MP, Chris Whiting served for 12 years as Local Councillor on the Caboolture Shire Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Some achievements as councillor were the rejuvenation of the Deception Bay foreshore, introduction of traffic calming into Deception Bay and initiating the Burpengary Greenlinks parkland project.

Chris has been outspoken on Council’s profit from their water business, the response of Council to the January 2011 floods, and the need for a flood buy-back scheme for flood affected residents.

As the local MP, Chris has been a champion for the people of Bancroft and helped deliver many community building initiatives such as the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program, the Deception Bay Environmental Hub and state-of-the-art school infrastructure in the region.

Chris is a volunteer for local community groups including the Deception Bay Lions Club, the Burpengary State School Council, Deception Bay Community Youth Programs and The Abbey Museum.
